STRETCHES FOR WORKING AT A COMPUTER
|
If you spend many hours sitting at your computer, it’s important to remember your muscles.
Break up the monotony of staring at your screen by taking breaks, giving your eyes a break, and stretching your body.
Some mini stretches that you can try at your desk:
- Neck stretches - moving your head forward, backward, side to side and rotating side to side. Neck circles are not advised as they put your cervical neck bones into a “pedestal and mortar” situation - wearing the bones.
- Shoulder shrugs – rolling your shoulders forwards and backwards and up and down to stretch your shoulders.
- Seated figure 4 – crossing your ankle over your opposite knees to stretch your hips.
- Seated knee to chest – while sitting, bring one knee up towards your chest to stretch your lower back and hips.

You can play a role in World Alzheimer’s Day by spreading awareness, volunteering at your local Alzheimer’s association, or donating to reputable organizations in your community.
