Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave

Shockwave sends a high intensity acoustic wave into tissues to stimulate your body to regenerate tissue, increase circulation by stimulating the formation of new blood vessels and may break down calcium deposits in tendons and tissues.  It is used primarily to promote healing and provide pain relief for tendon, fascia and soft tissue injuries.

The treatment is often mildly uncomfortable and short duration and can be most helpful with injuries that have been difficult to heal on its own or with other treatments.

Commonly used for conditions such as:

  • plantar fasciopathy
  • rotator cuff tendinopathy
  • tennis and golfer's elbow
  • DeQuervain's
  • hip bursitis/greater trochanteric pain
  • iliotibial (IT) band syndrome
  • patellar tendinopathy
