Acupuncture
An ancient way of stimulating healing in the body through the insertion of very fine needles through the skin. As a Physiotherapy modality, we use "anatomical" acupuncture, considering the anatomy and physiology of the area being treated and selecting acupuncture points that positively impact the muscles, joints and nerves needing treatment.
Our Acupuncturist uses a traditional chinese medicine approach that strives to restore a balanced energy (qi) flow by needling points along acupuncture meridians or lines. If qi is balanced it is believed a person has good health. Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years.
Dry Needling
A therapeutic treatment, used by our physiotherapists, that involves the repetitive insertion of a fine needle into painfully tight muscle trigger points to release tension and provide pain relief.
Auricular Acupuncture
Is acupuncture of the outer ear and assists the body's natural ability to heal. Acupuncture points on the ear correspond with parts on the body and thus enables the therapist to treat painful joints, sore muscles, headaches, stress and anxiety for example by needling the ear. Symptom relief is often immediate!
